Furniture Drive

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and donated to our furniture drive. The Mount Airy News published an article about the event here: GMAMH will benefit from Young Democrats drive. There was also a "Thumbs Up!" article about our president, Dr. Cory Stewart, published as well! On both days Dr. Stewart's truck was filled to the top with household goods, and on Saturday we had to make multiple trips to move everything from the park. Thanks again for help making the day so successful!

Service Projects

The Young Dems are always on the lookout for service projects, so if you know anyone who is looking for volunteers, please contact us! Recently we have worked at the Child Abuse Prevention Fair and selling concessions for the Special Olympics. At the next meeting, we will be discussing more ideas and making plans for more projects, such as cleaning up our recently adopted portion of Highway 601.

You're Invited!

The Young Democrats now officially meet the second Monday of every month. Our next meeting is going to be June 13th at 6 PM at our headquarters in downtown Mount Airy (228 Franklin Street, Mount Airy, NC, 27030). We would love to have you. Feel free to stop by, even if you are only interested in seeing what we're all about!

Working at the Mayfest

The Mayfest is a festival that takes place in downtown Pilot Mountain on Mother's Day weekend. The Young Democrats decided to set up a booth to register voters, sell t-shirts and bumper stickers, and give out free candy. We also recruited a new member!
